To be a leading and prestigious Computer System Study Program in the field of embedded systems engineering at the national level by the year of 2025.


System Computer (S1) The curriculum implemented at Program Study (hereinafter referred to as Prodi) Computer System refer to the competence based national curriculum in which the  curriculum implementation using the Semester Credit System (SCS) already defined by the Department National Education under the decisive  letter No. 232/U/2000 and SK No. 045/U/2002. It means that the description of the subjects is offered in each semester whereas the teaching-learning process is oriented to achieve the competence stipulated within the curriculum.

The study program of Computer System implements the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) under total minimum 144 scs. Based upon the competence, all of the subjects are divided into 3 (three) group namely: main competence subjects as many as 64 scs (44,44%), the subject of supporting competence as many as 69 scs (47,92%) and the subject of additional competence as many as 11 scs (7,64%).

Based upon the element competence, the subject is divided into (five) groups namely Subject of Personality Development (SPD) 15 scs (10,42%), Subject of Knowledge and Skill (SKS) 54 scs (37,50%), Subject of Work Skill (SWS) 46 scs (31,94 %), Subject of Work Behavior (SWB) 10 scs (6,94%) and Subject of  Social Living (SSL) 9 scs (6,25%) and Elective Subject (ES) 10 scs (6,94%).


Information System Department, Andalas University, was established in 2010 as one of the earliest departments formed under Faculty of Information Technology. In accordance with the Rector's Decree No. 753 / XIV / A / UNAND-2016, the Department of Information System has imoplemented the 2016 curriculum from 2016/2017 academic year. In this curriculum the student has to take 144 total credit within 8 semesters. The courses offered are classified into two groups: 

  • Compulsory courses : 132 credits
  • Elective  courses : 12 credits

Learning Objectives and Graduate Competencies are designed by referring to the Indonesian Qualification Framework (KKNI) and also to:

  • The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) 2002 and The Association for Information Systems (AIS)  2002 & 2010
