Andalas University has 12 Student Activity Units:

Student Regiment

It is under the Maharuyung Student Regiment whose activities are to send delegation to join courses and trainings related to military skills.

The Nature Lovers / MAPALA

This unit organizes students’ activities to enjoy, observe, and help conserve the nature and environment. They also study natural phenomena by using scientific approach, through sports in the environment. They send delegation to the International Rafting, the National Wall Climbing, Cross-Country Race, and the School of Rock Climbing. In addition, it also organizes training and workshop for nature lovers.

The Boy Scouts

This unit trains students to obtain survival skills. They hold scout competitions and blood donation event. Their scout groups are registered as: Gudep 0455 and Gudep 0456.

The Pandekar

This is a place where students, who are skillful in self-defenses such as Karate, Pencaksilat, AA boxer, Kempo, and the like, gather, discuss, and exercise together and go to the Regional Competition (PORDA) under the name of the university.

AIESEC

It is an international student organization located in 87 countries. Its main activity is to facilitate the International Traineeship Exchange. There are six branches of AIESEC in Indonesia, one of which is in Andalas University. One of its activities is to send candidates to Asia Pacific Exchange and Leadership Seminar (APXLDS). Congress. AISEC also organizes trainings and social events.

The Spiritual Unit / Islamic Study Center

The Spiritual Unit provides students with activities to build up their spiritual way of thinking to develop their faith and worship to God. It conducts the Islamic review session, such as Pesantren (School of Koran Studies) in the open-air and the Islamic Study-Oriented Events (ISO) periodically.

The Sport Unit

This unit is built to improve the physical fitness and mental health of the students. The activities are conducting the inter-faculty competitions and preparing students for the Indonesian Student Championship League.

The Student Economic Cooperative (KOPMA)

It is a primary cooperative that provides the student’s primary needs to support their process of learning. They are: deposit and loan, photocopy center, shops, and attended-phone booths. The other activity is to send delegation to join the National Cooperative Trainings.

The Indonesian Student Red-Cross / KSR-PMI

This unit involves in Red Cross. It conducts the workshop and basic training for the new members of the KSR-PMI.

The Intellectual Activity Unit

It conducts discussion and training in social researches.

The Art Unit

The unit conducts art events, such as song competitions, musical events on campus, and the academic choirs in formal ceremonies.

The Student Press

The student press is a unit to develop student talent and interest and facilitate them in scientific writing. It publishes the campus newspaper, “Genta Andalas”.
