Cooperation between these two institutions was signed directly by Sarolangun Regent, H. Cek Endra and Rector Unand Prof. Dr. Tafil Husni, SE, MBA and attended by Assistant 1 Pemkab Sarolangun, Director of RSUD Sarolangun, Vice Rector, Dean, Head of Institution and Unand staff.
"Actually long before the implementation of this MoU, Universitas Andalas has helped Sarolangun District Government, especially in the medical field, because most doctors who work in hospitals Prof. Dr. H. M. Chatib Quzwain are alumni of the Faculty of Medicine Unand "said H. Check Endra.
This is the beginning of formal cooperation. This cooperation we intend to educate the specialist doctors RSUD Prof. Dr. H. M. Chatib Quzwain in Unand to become a professional specialist and also ask for inputs and ideas of thoughts from Unand experts especially in the field of health related to hospital facilities and infrastructure.
"What medical equipment needed for the hospital, what support facilities should be and need to be completed. For that we really need input from Unand "he added.
Furthermore, he explained the current RSUD Prof. Dr. H. M. Chatib Quzwain is a referral hospital for the surrounding districts. The condition of this hospital which is located on the edge of the cross so that makes this hospital increasing number of patient increasing. Increasing the number of patients must be coupled with the improvement of service quality, human resources, facilities, and infrastructure.
Cek Endra also mentioned that Sarolangun is a district of Jambi province in 1999. Currently, it has 10 districts, 159 villages with a population of 130,000 inhabitants. The area is rich in natural resources plantation, palm, coal, mining, and others. The potential of this natural resource certainly needs to be managed properly. So it would be appropriate to take college.
"In the future this cooperation must be developed both in terms of quality and quantity. We hope Unand can build Sarolangun to a more advanced district "he concluded.
Meanwhile, Rector of Unand, Prof. Dr. Tafdil Husni, SE, MBA mentions this cooperation as a form of synergy between government and universities. We know that college is a center of knowledge. Sarolangun's extraordinary natural resources potential also requires tremendous thinking from experts. To that end, Andalas University is ready to help contribute the ideas and ideas of experts at Unand.
He also mentioned that currently Faculty of Medicine Unand has highly qualified Professors and Doctors. FK Unand has also built many hospitals in several regions in Indonesia. In addition, Unand also has a hospital with excellence in the field of chemotherapy, cancer treatment. RS Unand already has sophisticated equipment.
